12 Shades of Yellow

A big cheer goes out to Laura Pierce for being the first to send in a photo of their “12 Challenge” mat.   Laura titled her mat “12 Shades of Yellow,” and it is just that, a 12 inch square mat containing shapes of 12 shades of yellow.  Laura loves the color yellow so it is fitting that she chose this concept for her challenge mat.  The diagonal structure is simple and elegant, displaying Laura’s singular skill as a designer.

Hooked and designed by Laura Pierce, Petaluma, CA

I had the pleasure of seeing this mat in person at  Little River Inn Rug Camp earlier this month and it is delightful.  It reminds me of a stained glass window with the sun shining through–it seems to glow.

I was going to show photos from Little River Inn Rug Camp and I somehow lost all the photos when I downloaded them from my camera to my computer.  If you have photos from LRI, please send them to me and I’ll post them here.

I’d also love to post photos from your holiday hooking events.

Does anyone have special plans for December 4 (International Hook-in Day)?  If so, add a comment to this post and let us all know.  To read more about International Hook-in Day go to TIGHR.

Happy Holidays!
